Credit Unions, also known as SACCOs or CFIs in other parts of Africa, are member-owned not- for-profit financial cooperatives that exist to serve their members. According to the World Council of Credit Union statistics, globally, 57,000 Credit Unions in 105 countries continue to improve lives and communities of over 217 million members.
