Kenya's coastal region is set to benefit from an inclusive and sustainable economic boost with a focus on job creation and employment for young people and women. The European Union (EU) and the Government of Kenya have launched today the Go Blue programme in a virtual event on 25th March 2021.
Go Blue is funded with 3.23 billion Kenyan Shilling and implemented in the coastal counties of Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu, and Taita Taveta.

EMMANUEL KOMBE NZAI is a Public Policy professional with a passion for social innovation and economic development. He is the founding CEO/Secretary of Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani (JKP) “Commonwealth” a regional economic development organization representing Kenya’s six coastal counties; Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu & Taita Taveta. In this role, he is charged with coordinating economic development cooperation of the six counties and key stakeholders, Policy harmonization, Promotion of the regional assets and mobilization of Investments towards an economy that creates wealth and shared prosperity for its communities.
He was a Deputy Presidential candidate, Thirdway Alliance, Kenya (Ekuru-Nzai 2017) and Founder/CEO of Linkagepoint LLC, a strategic advisory and technology company in Washington DC (2005 – 2010).

Ms. Katrin Hagemann was appointed as the Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Kenya in 2019. A German National, she joined the European External Action Service at its inception in 2011. From 2015-2019, she served as the head of the Political Section of the European Union Delegation to Botswana and SADC. She holds a degree in Astronomy and Physics (Wellesley College), a Master's Degree in in Astronomy (Cornell University) and a second Master of Advanced International Studies (University of Vienna/Diplomatic Academy Vienna). She began her career at the German Federal Foreign Office before joining the European Union Council Secretariat in 2006.
